NOVEL SUMMARY:

For the first time in over eight-hundred years, the vampire, Avianna Riardi, has a soul mate--Joseph, and she will sacrifice everything and anyone to preserve his existence. After a brutal attack married duo, Mary and Kristian, learn to do more than just exist as werewolves; The witch, Keenu Kulae, lost one daughter to a mystery and will dive into dark magic if needed to save the other two.

The zombie pandemic comes and the supernaturals are forced to answer hard questions: can the different supernatural factions work with each other, despite historic distrust; will they fight alongside the human Marines and militia from whom then expect betrayal; or will the supernaturals stay hidden and watch humanity destroyed?

Main Character Excerpts:

The vampire, Avianna Riardi: With one pull on the door, it clattered off its hinges. Inside, she saw her fifteen-year-old sister curled onto her father's bed, grasping at the torn tunic that revealed an assortment of welts. The young girl reeked of shame and violation. Their mother pressed herself into a back corner praying through bleeding lips. The symphony of their hearts intensified the new vampire's hunger. In the center of the nightmare, a man an inch shorter than Avianna stood holding his belt by the buckle. Half-blinded by the alcohol he squinted as the always-defiant daughter stepped in front of him. . . . New physical strength and a lifetime of rage bonded within her. She purred, "Papa, how could anyone have feared you?"

The witch, Keenu Kulae: After the coven finished the protective spells for their allies, Keenu leaned forward and spooned the toxic mixture over the one doll wrapped in black gauze. Her apprehension over the black magic did not show as she chanted:

To protect new friends from thee,
     This dreadful spell I speak:
With these words, and with this oil,
I bind thee to thy smoky coil.
Mist but once and stay forever,
In thy cloud of black endeavor.

When she leaned back, the rest of the coven remained silent. They believed their fear of dark magic to be wise and justified, and that intensified their dread. Keenu perspired and trembled, feeling the power of what she had done.

The werewolf alphas, Mary and Kristian: Knowing he could not fight these massive animals, he grabbed Mary's hand and pulled her out of her daze. They turned to the nearest SUV. The terrified husband helped his wife onto the slippery hood and spotted her while she tried clambering onto the roof in ankle-strap high heels. She intended to pull herself through the barrier cable on the higher level, so she could pause to call 911. Before she could grasp the cable, she heard her husband yell and felt him pulled away from her. She looked down to see one of the wolves dragging Kristian to the ground. Mary turned to reach for him, only to slip off the roof back onto the hood. Unable to fight the beasts, and desperate to find help for her husband, she started to climb to the roof again, when she felt teeth dig into her calf. A second later, she hit the cement. The crack of her arm echoed through the garage.

About the Author:

After more than a decade enjoying life as a New Jersey homemaker, followed by two decades learning new skills in the corporate world, Frances shifted into teaching and moved to North Carolina with her husband. After self-publishing a supernatural novel for adult readers, Frances retired from teaching and self-published a historical fiction for middle school readers. In 2022, she was excited to have two pieces accepted and released by traditional publishers: her murder mystery by World Castle Publishing, and her flash fiction by Flash Fiction Magazine. Frances, who only knows how to move forward, continues to author short stories while working on the next two novels in the supernatural trilogy.
